Informational Video
Join artist Jen Norton for an art project and Lenten reflection on Jesus’ extravagant display of transforming love and mercy.
Using Jen’s book, Surrender All (Ave Maria Press) as a starting point, Jen and Mary Dillard, Director of Mercy Center Burlingame, will guide our walk together as we meditate on the Stations of the Cross. Then, Jen will guide you in creating a unique piece of expressive art that examines your own heart, finding clues to your mission call.
The workshop includes 6 “on-demand” pre-recorded sessions. You can access and view the pre-recorded art classes and reflections at any time. Small groups will also be offered at various times throughout Lent so that we can share our experiences of the journey.
Pre-Recorded Video Workshops – On-Demand (You choose when to view.)
SESSION ONE: Jesus is Condemned/Jesus carries His cross
SESSION TWO: The 3 Falls
SESSION THREE: Meeting Mary and the Women of Jerusalem
SESSION FOUR: Response of Simon and Veronica
SESSION FIVE: The Passion
SESSION SIX: Transformation and Resurrection
Share your art on social media #SurrenderAllToLove
The art project is open to all levels of creativity. No experience necessary! Art instruction will be given in acrylic paint and collage, but attendees are free to use other creative mediums of choice, like fabric, clay, found objects, etc.
In addition to your ticket you will need to purchase art materials. Please see link below for art supply suggestions. Jen also created a video to offer art supply suggestions which you can view below.
Note: It is not necessary to participate in the art project, you are welcome to enjoy the Lenten reflections and view the projects of others as we go along.
